Just a normal person here. I hear Greek can be nuanced when it comes to genitive cases, and most Bible translations lean towards the objective genitive as a direct translation and interpretation of the Greek text. Surley Paul was saying, we put our faith in the subject BECAUSE, of the subjects inherent faithfulness no ? Christ's faithfulness underpins why we have faith in him. In isaiah 61:10, isn't it the 'righteousness of the robe' (righteousness/faithfulness of christ) that simultaneously gives the "garment of salvation" power to save saints ? They are two sides of the same coin. Why else was Isaiah rejoicing and his soul filled with joy? Galatians 2:16 is pretty clear on justification by faith in Christ (objective genitive), Christ's faithfulness is likely implied. I would imagine Paul wouldn't explicitly mention it in that verse because his focus is is this on contrasting faith with works of the Law in an effort to combat traditions inadvertently contaminating the core of Gospel, even amongst Peter and Co.

My concern at roughly 40:44 is the use of the word 'infatuation' and the definition for this word is an intense but 'short-lived' passion and admiration. Personally it should exclude the 'short-lived' aspect that the word infatuation holds. Perhaps pure admiration is the right word in this case. A suggestion...

Works did generate salvation. Jesus did works of love which gave us the opportunity to be saved. We respond with works of love which gives us salvation. What we do determines whether we are saved, as long as we are motivated by love to do good works and not by selfishness without love.
